Why can’t permanently canceled subscriptions be reactivated and what are the alternatives?

Why can’t a permanently cancelled subscription be reactivated?

Not all cancelled subscriptions in Yari Flow behave the same way.

A standard cancellation can be reversed, and the Reactivate option will appear in both the Yari Flow Dashboard and the My Account.

A permanently cancelled subscription cannot be reactivated.

What causes a permanent cancellation?

A subscription may be permanently cancelled in the following situations:

· It was merged into another subscription When subscriptions are merged, the original subscription is permanently closed and its products are moved to the remaining active subscription.

· Yari Flow cancelled it after payment recovery failed If all retry attempts configured in your dunning settings are unsuccessful, Yari Flow may permanently cancel the subscription.

· The original Shopify order was cancelled Cancelling the Shopify order associated with the subscription can trigger an automatic permanent cancellation.

In each case, the subscription remains visible in the Yari Flow Dashboard for reference, but it becomes read-only.

You will not be able to edit its products, billing information, delivery schedule, or other subscription details.

How to continue the customer’s subscription

If the customer wants to continue receiving subscription orders, use one of the following options.

Add products to an active subscription

If the subscription was merged, its products should already appear on the remaining active subscription.

If the products are not present, you can add them to another active subscription from the Yari Flow Dashboard.

Customers may also be able to add products themselves through the My Account, depending on your account settings.

Create a new subscription

Create a new subscription contract for the customer from the Yari Flow Dashboard.

Recreate the original products, quantities, delivery frequency, and next billing date as needed. You can also apply an eligible discount to match the customer’s previous subscription terms.

What does the customer see?

Permanently cancelled subscriptions do not appear in the My Account.

They are filtered out before the account loads, so customers will not see them alongside their active or regularly cancelled subscriptions.

If a customer reports that a subscription has disappeared, it may have:

· Been merged into another subscription

· Been permanently cancelled after unsuccessful payment retries

· Been permanently cancelled because the original Shopify order was cancelled

The subscription record will remain available in the Yari Flow Dashboard for your team’s reference.

If the customer needs to continue the subscription and no suitable active subscription is available, creating a new subscription is the recommended approach.
